Surah Al-Ikhlas with English Translation and Explanation

Surah Al-Ikhlas (The Purity)

(Chapter 112 of the Quran)

Arabic:
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُۥۤۥۤۦۥۤۦۥۤۥۦۥۥۥۥۥۥۥۥ

Pronunciation:

Qul huwa Allahu Ahad

“Say, He is Allah, [Who is] One.”

Allahu As-Samad

“Allah, the Eternal Refuge.”

Lam yalid wa lam yulad

“He neither begets nor is born.”

Wa lam yakul lahu kufuwan ahad

“Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”

Surah Al-Ikhlas English Translation:

Say, “He is Allah, [Who is] One,

Allah is the only One, singular in His essence and existence.
Allah, the Eternal Refuge.

Allah is the Self-Sufficient, the Eternal, to whom all creation turns for help.
He neither begets nor is born,

Allah has no children, nor was He born. He is unique in His nature.
Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”

There is nothing and no one that is comparable to Allah in any way.

Explanation:

Surah Al-Ikhlas is a short yet profound chapter that declares the absolute oneness of Allah. It emphasizes that Allah is unique, self-sufficient, eternal, and incomparable to anyone or anything. This surah is often recited by Muslims as a declaration of their faith in the oneness and sovereignty of Allah.
